Research Centers @ Illinois

Micro and Nanotechnology Laboratory
The Micro and Nanotechnology Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research facility in the College of Engineering that houses advanced equipment to support research in photonics, microelectronics, nanotechnology, and biotechnology. The research activities that are facilitated by the Laboratory can be divided into four areas which are: Optoelectronics and Photonic Systems, Microelectronics for Wireless Communications, Microelectromechanical Systems, and Nanobiosystems.

Materials Research Laboratory
The Frederick Seitz Materials Research Laboratory (FSMRL) fosters interdisciplinary research at the forefront of materials science. The FSMRL brings together world-class faculty and students in condensed matter physics, materials chemistry, and materials science in a highly collaborative research environment.

Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology, at UIUC
The Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST) was established in 2001 at the University of Illinois, as the premier Center for nanoscale science and technology initiatives.
